Before applying for an Indian e-Visa, you will need to have two mandatory documents:
- Approval document from the Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA)
- Host Invitation Letter (In this case, invitation letter from INCOIS)
- At INCOIS, once we receive participant details (passport, job title, organization, address, etc.), we submit them to the MEA.
- The MEA then verifies each participant's credentials and provides clearance.
- After receiving MEA's approval, INCOIS will issue the official invitation letters.
- Both documents - the MEA clearance and the INCOIS invitation letter - are essential for applying for an Indian Visa.
- All visitors to India must have a passport that is valid for at least 6 months to apply for Indian visa.
- For the International Indian Ocean Science Conference - 2025, participants must apply for a Conference or Business visa only. Please note that Tourist visas are NOT eligible to enter India for attending conference.
- Visa can be applied in-person or by post at the High Commission or Embassy of India based in your country from where you intend to depart for India or nearby country (special case for few countries, where Indian Embassy is not present)
